We started off our day by sharing our first five favourite things about Hannibal. And if you watch the show, you totally agree with us. And if you don't watch the show, get on that right now! RIGHT. NOW. As if you still need help deciding, but here's five more reasons:
The Rest of the Cast
Yeah, yeah, Mads Mikkelsen is fucking awesome but the rest of the cast is great too. Will Graham is probably the role of Hugh Dancy's lifetime (Sorry, Ella Enchanted fans) and Lawrence Fishburne is alright, we guess. Then there are the enchanting guest appearances by the likes of Gillian Anderson (swoon), Raúl Esparza, Eddie Izzard...just to name a few.
It's Actually Horrifying
Seriously. HOW IS THAT ON TELEVISION?! Those are skin wings, dammit. Some of us got nightmares from some of the episodes. (And by "some", we mean just Siân.) But the gore in Hannibal is all too realistic, yet still beautiful. Yes, even a totem pole of dead people is beautiful. The first season was absolutely horrific; we can't wait to see what's in store for us this season. Cover your eyes, Siân!
The Best Quote Ever
Will Graham has a little saying he mutters whenever he's delving into the minds of serial killers and it was maybe our favourite thing to quote last year: "This is my design." THIS IS MY DESIGN, BITCHES.
There Are Only Thirteen Episodes
You know what sucks sometimes? Television seasons that are the "normal" twenty-three episodes long and it's starting to feel like a drag. English television does it right with their short seasons and Hannibal is following in suit. Yeah, thirteen episodes might not seem like enough but it was a perfect season and we were left wanting more instead of feeling tired of it. Also, it makes it easy to binge watch again. And again.
MADS FUCKING MIKKELSEN!
What? Did we already mention him? Too bad, so sad! Go whine about it to someone who cares. You're lucky we didn't list Mads ten times because we seriously considered it. We love Mads. We love him eating people on Hannibal and we also love him holding this kitty.
And a special mention goes to all of the amazing Hannibal fans, the Fannibals. They keep it real with a combination of hilarious memes and disturbing erotic fan fiction. Never change, Fannibals. Never change.
